What to Expect

A Planning Experience Designed for Clarity & Confidence

A Step-by-Step Overview on our Approach to Financial Planning

Working with Vesta Legacy Planning

Vesta aims to make financial planning approachable and personable. We believe that you to feel completely comfortable asking questions and engaging with your plan. As such, we do not believe in charging an hourly rate and encourage as much involvement and learning as you would like during our engagement.

Every client receives a personalized Financial Planning Blueprint, which delivers a comprehensive review of your current financial situation and goals. You will receive detailed, documented advice, with an action plan as to how best achieve your goals. We believe this takes time and expertise to do properly and devote a full week to each client to properly deliver a plan of value that we can be proud of.

Here’s how we deliver on that promise:

01

Initial Phone or E-mail Consultation

We will chat with you and answer any questions you have about the planning process. Although we are unable to provide any financial advice at this point, we will ensure that this is a good fit for your needs, and you know what to expect. There is no cost for this service.

02

Appointment Booking & Document Collection

You will receive an e-mail confirming the appointment times discussed on the phone, including an initial appointment and the follow-up delivery appointment one week later. A helpful checklist will also be provided with commonly asked questions and documents to bring to the appointment.

03

Discovery Appointment

We will begin by reviewing our engagement in detail, including signed privacy disclosure and costs. Richard will guide the conversation for the purpose of uncovering your goals and establishing a thorough understanding of your current financial situation as well as what you hope to achieve in the future. This discussion is intended to collect all the essential information needed to provide sound professional advice moving forward. This meeting is open-ended and often runs between 1.5-2.5 hours.

04

Analysis

We will spend the remainder of the week compiling and organizing all the information obtained, presenting it in an easily digestible format. After that is complete, we will review it in accordance with your goals and make documented recommendations to help you achieve them. We will also be reviewing and addressing any other pertinent information discovered, drawing attention to any blind spots or inconsistencies which may be present.

05

Review

Our second meeting is intended to review our completed blueprint, which will be delivered to you as a printed and bound document; digital copies are also available if you wish. Richard will discuss his findings and talk about any recommendations he has made, answering all the questions you may have. Additionally, he will review the action plan for each item, detailing exact steps to be taken. Where possible, we are available to help you with these steps as needed. This meeting is typically a bit shorter, running between 1-2 hours.

06

Follow-up

Clients may wish to have us assist them with further needs specific to their situation; some common examples would be business succession planning, or a letter of instruction to a lawyer or notary. These options will be reviewed in the action plan and are completely optional.
